Information Architect/Interaction Designer (San Francisco or San Luis Obispo, CA)

Apigee's visual designers are responsible for planning, crafting, and improving the user experience for web-based software and services. At Apigee, Information Architects have the following responsibilities: 

  • Plan and specify intuitive, functional interfaces.
  • Go deep on customer problems, gather requirements, and focus on what's most important. Find the simplest ways for customers to accomplish key tasks and develop specifications that inform visual design and engineering.
  • Deliver quality specifications that describe the user experience within key constraints: customer needs, technical requirements, business requirements, and available resources.
  • Make smart, informed design decisions that follow through on Apigee's mission, technology and goals. Deliver plans and designs with thoroughness and polish.
  • Proactively diagnose, prioritize, and solve product usability problems.
  • Encourage team buy-in by articulating a clear point of view on design problems and solutions.
  • Work in a collaborative, iterative, and agile way. Given the scope of our ambitions, we have to improve our product a feature at a time.
  • Be willing to take chances, make mistakes, and adjust based on what we learn when our customers bang on the product.

  • Your portfolio demonstrates a great attention to detail, an understanding of how people digest information and functionality, and shows a faculty for creating intuitive functional interfaces. We want to see the artifacts of your design process - sketches, wireframes, etc.
  • Your work shows that you have a command of the fundamentals: site architecture, task flows, wireframes, hierarchy of information, functional specifications, sketches, and low-fidelity prototyping.
  • Your work shows that you understand that IA documents should educate, persuade, and excite.
  • You make good design decisions based on limited information.
  • Have strong personal organization skills and attention to detail.

Support Engineer

We are looking for a candidate with a BE / B Tech /Master Degree with two to five years of experience. The candidate will be first level of contact for customer related issues and will be responsible to receive and respond to customer issues and queries, keep customer informed about the resolution of issues, understand and analyze customer issues and route to appropriate group for further resolution.

The candidate should have:

  • Working knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of EAI/Messaging/Web Services/SOAP/ESB/Middleware (knowledge of Weblogic/Websphere app servers a big plus)
  • Knowledge of networking, messaging technologies desirable
  • Experience in Installation and Configuration of products (application servers, networking products)

We are looking for a candidate with a BE or B Tech from premier institute with four to six years of experience. The candidate should have:

  • Development experience on linux/windows platform
  • Exposure to complete life cycle of software development
  • Ability to technically manage small teams and delivery modules
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience, preferably in a product development environment
  • Strong C/C++ programming experience in the field of  middleware, messaging, web services, network management software etc
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent design skills (API design, abstractions, design patterns etc)
  • Good Understanding of XML and HTTP/REST knowledge. Hands-on knowledge of XML parsing using libXML2, Xerces-C would be a plus

Experience in XML/XPath processing, SOAP/WSDL and related specifications and  Java/JNI knowledge would be a plus.

Software Engineer

We are looking for a candidate with a BE or B Tech from premier institute with three to five years of experience. The candidate should have excellent C programming skills and proficiency in debugging tools. Should have hands on Knowledge of Unix Systems programming. Should have Linux systems hands on experience on the following areas:

  • Trouble shooting of kernel and application layers
  • Packaging, booting aspects and customizations
  • Shell programming. TCL/AWK/PYTHON/PERL would be desirable

Experience on BSD OS will be  an added advantage.

Sr. QA Engineers
We are looking for a candidate with a BE or B Tech from premier institute with three to five years of experience in testing.The candidate should have exposure to software development/test methodologies and hands on experience in backend testing.Should have :

  • Expertise in testing and automation of UI
  • Experience in testing products like Selenium, Jmeter, SWTBOT
  • Testing experience on one or more of the following technologies/domain -Messaging, Networking protocols, Web Services, HTTP, XML and SOAP.

QA Engineer

We’re looking for a QA Engineer, whose primary responsibilities include but arenot limited to writing, executing and fixing test cases as per specificationsand interacting with developers to report and resolve issues. In addition, the QA Engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of white box and black box tests as well as development and automation of system tests, load tests and performance tests. Mandatory qualifications include a BE, B Tech, or MCA or equivalent, one to twoyears QA experience as well as experience in software testing exposure to software development/test methodologies and hands on experience in backendtesting.
